Each Gateway 2000â desktop system and DestinationÔ PC carries a three-year limited warranty, while our portable systems and Destination 31" monitors are covered by a one-year limited warranty. Please write or call for a free copy of our warranty.

Limited Guarantee*

Every Gateway 2000 purchase comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee (shipping charges are not refundable). You can return your Gateway product within 30 days of the original delivery date for a refund of the purchase price. Just call your sales representative for a return number, write the number on the outside of your shipping boxes and send them back to our factory.

Toll-Free Technical Support

Gateway 2000 provides 24-hour, seven-day a week toll-free telephone technical support for the life your system, including phone assistance with installation, configuration problem resolutions for all operating systems and standard configuration software purchased from Gateway 2000. Our technical professionals are thoroughly on the latest technology so you can count on accurate answers. You also get an automated fax service to supply you with documentation on over 150 technical subjects.

On-Site Service*

Our desktop systems and Destination Big Screen PC/TVs include one-year on-site service. This service is available to most locations in the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Canada. If you and your Gateway technician determine on-site is necessary, a PC Technology Services, Inc. Authorized service technician will arrive within a scheduled two-hour appointment window. On-site service is not available for any monitors, mice, keyboards, or portable PCs.

BBS Membership

As a Gateway owner you can take advantage of our free bulletin board service (BBS). It’s a convenient way to get answers to questions, download software, offer comments and share information with you friends at Gateway and other customers. Our BBS is accessible by modem 24 hours a day. And there is no membership fee, you pay only for your telephone call.

FCC, UL and CSA Certification

All Gateway 2000 systems are FCC Class-B, UL and CSA certified, and are compatible with IBM PC-AT standards.

Special Benefits for Gateway Customers

Each customer becomes a member of "Club Gateway." You'll be able to purchase peripherals, upgrades, software, accessories and clothing at great Gateway prices. Plus our quarterly publication, GW2k: Gateway Magazine, will be delivered to your doorstep. Please remember, however, that we sell the products you'll find in this guide only with the purchase of a system or to customers who already own Gateway computers.

Software Pre-Installed and Tested

Installation and setup errors are responsible for one-third of all software problems. Windows 95 or DOS and Windows for Workgroups 3.11 are preinstalled on your system's hard drive at no charge, tested and ready to run the moment your system arrives.

The EPA Energy Star Program

Gateway 2000 is an official member of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Energy Star Program. This program encourages PC manufacturers to build systems that are energy efficient. The signed agreement between Gateway and the EPA is a voluntary partnership and is part of our commitment to be environmentally responsible. When you see the Energy Star feature listed in one of our system configurations, you know the system is Energy Star compliant. With an Energy Star system, you make no sacrifices in cost or performance, but you may cut your computer's electricity consumption by over half!
