TelePath II Initialization Strings

Communication software settings vary depending on which modem the software uses. Here are the best settings for several popular packages when used with a TelePath II.

Set the DIP switches on the modem so that: 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 are off and 3, 5, 8 are on.

The initialization strings have zeros and ones, not O’s and L’s.

QModem 4.52

Under Modem/Quick Modem Config!, choose USRobotics HST with V.32bis (Duals too)

In Modem/Modem Commands/Initialization Command, enter:

AT&FX4S7=60S11=55&A3&K1&B1&C1&D2&H1&R2^M

In Modem/Comm Parameters/A-Default Baud Rate, enter 57600

Under Modem/Toggles, set:

Xon/Xoff=OFF
CTS/RTS flow=ON
RTS when Writing=OFF
FIFO during shell=ON
Lock DTE Baud Rate=ON
High Speed Xmit=OFF
16550 UART Enable=ON
Init ignores CD=OFF

CrossTalk 2.0

Under Modem Type, choose USRobotics Sportster 14,400/14,400PC

Under Settings/Connection/Modem/Custom,

Enter this Init String: |~AT&FB0X4&B1&H1&R2E0V1|
Set the port speed to 19200
Check Fast Hangup
Check Use RTS/CTS Handshaking
UNcheck Automatically Select Speed

Enable RTS/CTS flow control in all areas of the setup

WinFax Pro 3.0

In the [386 ENH] section of the SYSTEM.INI file, set COM1TXsize=16 and COM1RXsize=14

Under Modem Type, choose U.S. Robotics, Inc. - Sportster 14,400/PC Fax

Under Fax/Program Setup/Faxmodem, enter:

Init String: AT&F&C1&D2&H3&R2&I2S7=90
Reset: ATZ\
Speed N/A
