This document assumes that TranXit 2.0 is installed on both computers. Make sure the Infrared module, is connected to the serial port on the desktop before opening the TranXit software. For instructions on installing and configuring TranXit 2.0, refer to FaxBack^® document 3137.

Printing to another Computer using Print Redirection in Windows for Workgroups

This section assumes that the printer driver is installed properly. BOTH the computers using TranXit 2.0 must be set up using the following steps before you can print remotely.

1. From the Program Manager, double click the TranXit2 group to open it. In the TranXit2 group, double click the the TranXit icon to open the application.
2. The Tranxit window opens. Across the top of the window are two tabs: File Transfer and Print Redirector. Click the Print Redirector tab to view the Printpro Status and Setup window.
3. At the top of the screen, click the word Printpro. Click the words Printer Connection from the pull down menu that appears.
4. In the Printers window, make sure that the default printer is one of the installed printers. In the Install Printers box, click once on the default printer to highlight it. Click the Set As Default Printer button at the bottom of the window to verify the default printer. Click the Connect button in the upper right hand corner.
5. A Connect window appears. In the Ports box, click the down arrow to locate Tranxit2.Prn. Click once on this to highlight it. Click the OK button at the top right corner of the window. The Printers window re-appears, click the Close button in the upper right hand corner.
6. In the File Transfer window, click the word Printpro at the top of the screen. Click the word Enable from the pull down menu that appears. A PrintPro Setup and Status window appears informing you that the redirection driver is properly installed. Click the OK button to return to the Tranxit program.
7. Proceed to the other computer. Repeat steps 1-6 on the second computer. Once BOTH computers are actively running the TranXit program, you can print to a remote computer.
