Winfax 3.0 Will Dial but Will Not Connect

Issue: When attempting to fax using Winfax Pro ver 3.0 with any of the following modems MODISA003AAUS, MODISA005AAUS, MODISA005ABUS, MODISA005ACUS, or MODISA005ADUS, the modem will dial out and start handshaking but will not connect. A status dialog box will appear with an operation status of "waiting" during the duration of the handshaking and finally will return a status of "NO CARRIER".
Resolution: To resolve this issue, edit the WINFAX.INI file located in the c:\winfax directory. In the [General] section of the WINFAX.INI, change the entry Fax Device=Class2 to Fax Device=Class1. The modem will be able to successfully send a fax. This change will also improve reception of faxes.
