Unable to Browse the Network after Clicking on Entire Network

Issue: If the system does not ask for a password when booting into Windows® 95, it will automatically log in to Microsoft® Network. When the Network Neighborhood icon is double clicked, the only thing that shows up is Entire Network. After double clicking Entire Network the error message Unable to browse the network appears with the OK button. Windows 95 does not recognize having the Enter key as the password when on a network.

Resolution: Follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

  1. From the Start menu choose Run.
  2. Type in REGEDIT, and press Enter.
  3. Once in the registry, choose Hkey_Local_Machine\software\microsoft\windows\current_version\network\real mode net
  4. Delete the line that says AUTOLOGON=0.
  5. Save the changes, and reboot the system.
