McAfee this week launched Viper Toolkit which allows developers to embed its antivirus engine into their applications.
Available around September, the Virus Interface for Protective Early Response (Viper) Toolkit allows corporate and independent software developers to launch parts of McAfee's VirusScan Suite, like VirusScan, and Internet antivirus program WebScanX, to carry out their various virus-busting tasks. The suite can also encrypt executables to grant them safe passage through a corporate intranet, said the firm.
The product is aimed at corporate intranet applications, and licensing is to be set.
McAfee can be contacted by telephone on 01344-304730.
