Description: Echo has now been one-upped by the beginnings of an App called Rig. This preliminary version is VERY alpha (notice the version prefix 'z' ;-) Rig is a real-time effects processing system that uses add-ons. Once the system is ready, users will be able to add a number of effects to a "Rig" limited only processor speed. Currently, there is only one add-on, you guessed it: Echo! is back only now you have to add it to a Rig to hear the awesome sounds of the most basic of digital effects. Needless to say, the next thing I'm going to do is come up with some cooler effects to show off my app, now that it is semi functional. Once Again: This is pre-alpha. Read the Read Me!

See the GPL for details about distribution policy. maplay is not a very efficient MPEG decoder, so the improvements to make it work well(on a Be/66) is left to the reader. If you have a Be/66, turn off one processor, it may help it running, for reason related to cache coherency between the two processors.

Description: Version 1.2.1 fixes a bug reported by Jake: I wasn't loading all of the internal MIDI instruments. It also comes in a zip file so that file attributes (like the icons) are not lost. MIDI Through does what it says. It connects your BeOS computer's MIDI outputs to its MIDI inputs and to the internal MIDI synth. You can turn off or on the connections between each MIDI input and output. By default, all inputs are connected to all outputs and to the MIDI synth. This latest version not only lets you play the internal MIDI synth; you can also select the program (sound) and adjust the volume for each channel. But wait, there's more! When you send a program change or volume change from your MIDI controller, the Internal Synth window updates in realtime! Gasp! For more help, run MIDI Through and select "Help..." from the application menu or open the file "index.html" in the documentation folder.

Description: Pulsar is an FFT spectro psychedelic sound analyser. This is an app that I started after listening Trance Techno music. It also works with other types of music, if you like ! The main idea is that it runs an FFT on the music and displays psychedelic stuff in full screen, using your parameters. The latest version supports add-on programmed in C++. Sample code for creating add-on is included in the archive. I encourage anybody to fell free to create and dispatch such add-on, as well as I expect anybody to criticize the program architecture, especially the points noted in the todolist or the readme. To run this, you need an audio CD device and the datatypes library. Next version will use JPG instead of TGA and thus will be smaller.

Description: Sound editor featuring as many samples on screen as wanted, even playing simultaneously, as many views for each sample as wanted too. Logarithmic zoom going down to the sample with a constant relative precision all over its range. No clipboard - everything is on screen. This way, it should be easier to chose between different sets of effects parameters (when effects will be here). Nifty marker/region logic allowing for fast, precise, editing, leading to nearly non-destructive work. For the moment, it's really a demo-version - the design is awful and there's no effect at all. It should change really quickly - stay tuned.

I inserted the following line into /boot/system/UserBootscript: TermSound "/boot/sounds/Beavis&ButtheadBeginning" It can also be used to play multiple sounds in sequence: TermSound Sound1 Sound2 etc. It can play any sound supported by BeOS's play_sound() function, which currently is AIFF, WAVE, and UNIX formats. Anything else will be played, but will be treated as raw data and may not play correctly...
