Description: This datatype handler is a read only handler for BMP files. It is pretty simple and does not (yet) handle any types of compression.

Description: A library that helps with data format translation services. It will let you write applications that use system-wide translation, or write system-wide translators that applications can use. This is not a Metrowerks product. Actually, it is getting rolled into the BeOS in the future. This package includes the library, documentation, and sample code. Version 1.6.0 requires the Release BeOS Preview Release (aka "PR" or "real DR9") to run. New with version 1.6.1 is a data capture API - translate "thin air" into real data!

Description: PNG handler for the Datatypes library. Supports a full range of PNG loading colour spaces (32/24/16/8/4/2/1 bit) with alpha channel options. Also PNG saving with a wide range of output options (32/24/8 bit depths) with various colour downsampling for 8-bit images. It also has options for variable compression and optional interlacing of images. Supports a preference view for self configuration.

Description: Datatype handler for QuickTime movies. Supports many input formats and resolutions including Cinepak; Apple Video; Apple Animation and Apple Uncompressed in various bit depths. Sound is also supports through the Datatypes interface - the handler will decode signed or unsigned raw audio and interleave it with a video stream. Creation of QuickTime movies is also supported although only Apple Uncompressed video can be generated currently, with raw sound added if required.
