Installation Procedure:
- Insert the diskette labeled Mitsumi FX-001D Driver Disk into the A: (or applicable) drive. Type in
and press Enter. At the A:\> prompt type:
A:and press Enter.
setup- At the top of the first screen it says MSCDEX Setup Program. This screen contains information about the CD-ROM drivers. At the bottom of the screen it asks Do you want to install MTMCDAE.SYS? Press the Y key and Enter to proceed.
- The next screen tells you it will install the drivers on the C: drive. Press Enter when ready to proceed.
- The next question is which directory you want the drivers installed into. C:\DEV is the default directory so press Enter to continue. After the drivers have finished copying into the directory, press Enter when prompted to proceed.
- The next screen will ask you what directory you want the MSCDEX.EXE files installed to. C:\BIN is the default directory so press Enter to accept this default. The screen prompts you to press Enter when the drivers are finished loading to proceed.
- The following screen tells you that the setup program wants to make changes to your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files. When asked if you want to continue with setup, press the Y key and Enter to continue.
- The next screen is titled Updating CONFIG.SYS. The first item asks you to select the I/O address; press the 3 key on the keyboard to correspond with the address of 340 and then Enter to continue.
- The next selection will be for audio play mode. Press Enter for the default setting of /A:0 which is stereo mode.
- Select Memory Buffer Size is the next selection. Press Enter for the default of /M:20.
- The next screen will ask you for the DMA Channel for the CD-ROM. Press the 6 key on the keyboard for the setting of DMA 6 and press Enter to continue.
- The next screen prompts you for the IRQ Channel for the CD-ROM. Type in 11 and press Enter to proceed.
- Next the installation asks you if you want to use Extended Memory. Press Enter for the default answer of NO.
- The screen then displays the line that it will add to the CONFIG.SYS and prompt you to press Enter when ready to proceed.
- Setup will ask you if you want the program to make the changes to the CONFIG.SYS. Press the Y key on the keyboard and then Enter. Once it is done copying, press Enter when ready to proceed.
- The next heading on the screen says Updating AUTOEXEC.BAT. The line that will be added to the AUTOEXEC.BAT will be displayed on the screen. Press Enter when ready to proceed.
- Some information about your AUTOEXEC.BAT file will be displayed on the screen. Below this information, the setup program will ask you if you want the program to make the changes to the AUTOEXEC.BAT for you. Press the Y key on the keyboard and then Enter to continue.
- The final screen says that the setup program was complete and prompts you to reboot the system for the CD-ROM drivers to load.
- Remove the diskette from the drive and reboot the system for the drivers to take effect.
