Troubleshooting Tips
If your system hangs during the boot process or you receive the error message "CDR101" after adding the CD-ROM drivers, you will need to change the parameters of the CD-ROM drive in the config.sys file.
- First it is necessary to determine the configuration of the CD-ROM drive. Power your system off. You will need to open your system and identify the jumper configuration and cable placement on the system board. Refer to your Userís Guide for instructions on opening your system. Refer to your Sanyo Userís Guide that came with your system for specifics on identifying the jumper configuration and cable placement of the CD-ROM drive.
- Next, power your system back on. As soon as you see "Starting MS-DOS" appear on your screen, press the F5 key on the keyboard to boot clean. At the c: prompt, type in
and press enter. Once you return to the c: prompt, type in
path=c:\dosand press enter.
edit config.sys- In this file you will see a line that says DEVICE=C:\TSY\TSYCDROM.SYS /D:TSYCD1 /P:PS. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to position the blinking cursor just to the right of the last "s" in this line. Press the backspace key twice to remove the PS from the end of this line. Now type in
so the line now reads DEVICE=C:\TSY\TSYCDROM.SYS /D:TSYCD1/P:SM.
sm- Once you have finished typing this, press the ALT on the keyboard once. Next press the F key to bring down the File menu, followed by the X key to exit the file. A message will appear that asks you if you want to save the changes you just made. The word YES will be highlighted. Press the enter key to save the file. Once you return to the c: prompt, reboot your system.
