To Install the Windows 95 Driver
- Open up the Control Panel.
- Open up the Add New Hardware applet.
- On the first page of the Add New Hardware Wizard select Next.
- When prompted to auto detect hardware select No.
- The screen will ask the type of hardware being install, select Sound, video and game controllers. Then select Next.
- When asked for the Manufacturer and Model of the hardware select Ensoniq and Ensoniq Soundscape and click on Next.
- The default hardware settings for the driver are now displayed. These settings are based upon the boards hardware capabilities and setting availability within the system. If you have changed the jumpers controlling either Input/Output Range and they do not match the settings on-screen, you will need to modify the settings on-screen or the appropriate jumpers on the soundscape card. (The jumpers will be changed in step 9). Now click on Next.
- When prompted for the installation disk, enter the full path to the driver such as: D:\Drivers\Audio\Ensoniq or click on Browse to find the path and click on OK.
- At this point, the driver loads. If the driver is unable to load, it instructs to power down the system. Choose Yes and then verify the IO jumpers on the Soundscape card and begin with step (1).
NOTE: You must install the Win 95 Ensoniq software applications for DOS mode sound support. The path is Drivers\Audio\Ensoniq\Applet\ on the Win 95 CD.
To Access the Driver Configuration Page:
- Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
- Select the Device Manager tab.
- Double click on Sound, video and game controller. This expands the tree branch, allowing the ENSONIQ Soundscape driver to be viewed.
- Select the ENSONIQ Soundscape branch and click Properties. Further assistance is available on the various Property Page options. Click on the (?) in the title bar and then select the appropriate help option.

Windows 95 is incapable of detecting the joystick port. In order for the joystick port to function, the Microsoft Joystick drivers must be installed. Perform the following to install the driver.
- Go into the Control Panel and select the Add New Hardware icon.
- When asked to search for new hardware, choose NO.
- From the list of hardware devices to install, select Sound, Video and Game Controllers. A list of Manufacturers is displayed.

- Choose Gameport Joystick. After confirming this, Windows prompts the Win 95 CD to be installed in order to complete the Joystick installation process.
