External Speakers Pop When the System is Powered On or Off

Issue: The external speakers emit a distinct pop when powering on or powering down the system.
Resolution:

Before powering on or off speakers and/or subwoofer unit, make sure the volume control on the speaker unit is turned down.
Do not power on speakers and/or subwoofer unit until after powering the computer system.
Power off the speakers and/or subwoofer unit before powering down the computer system.
