LCP Errors Using Shiva Lan Rover 3.5 on a Gateway SoloTM

Issue: When using Shiva Lan Rover 3.5 for Windows® on a Gateway Solo system with Windows for Workgroups 3.11, the following error message may occur when trying to connect to the dial up server: "Unable to open LCP connection". This occurs with the Megahertz PCMCIA modems that have a 16550 UART chip.

Resolution: The SSCIRRUS.EXE file which shipped with the LibertyTM systems will fix this problem. You can obtain this file from the LIBCS312.EXE file on the Gateway 2000® FTP site. Rename the SSCIRRUS.EXE file that comes with Cardwiz, and copy the new file into the Cardwiz directory. Change the line in the CONFIG.SYS to read DEVICE=C:\CARDWIZ\SSCIRRUS.EXE. The /SKT:2 parameter needs to be removed from the end of the line.
