CrossDOS

CrossDOS allows you to read and write to MSDOS formated disks using your standard Amiga setup.

CrossDOS Drives.

The CrossDOS drivers can be found in your sys:storage/dosdrivers drawer called PCO: and PC1:. To activate them simply move them to your sys:devs/dosdrivers drawer. This will allow you to read and write to MS-DOS formatted 720k or 1.44MB floppy disks.

When activated Workbench will show two icons for any floppy inserted into the disk drive. If a MS-DOS disk is inserted then you will see the MS-DOS icon and a DF0:??? icon. if only an Amiga formatted floppy is inserted you will see the normal icon associated with that disk.

When you open a MS-DOS formatted disk Workbench shows the contents in Show all mode.

Adding CrossDOS Drivers

To create more CrossDOS drivers simply follow the following steps:

  1. Make sure the PC0: and Pc1: icons are in sys:devs/dosdrivers.
  2. Open sys:devs/dosdrivers and select the PC0 Icon.
  3. Select copy from the Icon menu in the Workbench tool bar at the top of the screen.
