Installing and Configuring PGA Tour Golf 486 Under Windows 95

The following article describes the steps necessary to install and operate PGA Tour Golf 486 under Windows 95. This application requires MS-DOS Mode in order for it to function properly. You may need to modify the settings, created after running the installation program, to include the necessary drivers. If the program is installed using the Add/Remove Programs feature in Control Panel, Windows configures the application using the settings it feels necessary to make the game function. This setup is not, however, completely fool-proof. The rest of this article explains how to install and change the configuration if necessary.

To Install PGA Tour Golf 486

  1. Click on Start, choose Settings and open Control Panel.
  2. Click on Add/Remove Programs.
  3. The wizard finds Install.com file on the CD.
  4. Choose Finish to start the installation.
  5. Select a drive and directory to which the application was installed and press Enter. PGA486 is the default. The program installs the necessary files onto the hard drive.

    devicehigh=c:\plugplay\drivers\dos\dwcfgmg.sys

    Autoexec.bat

    set tmp=c:\windows\temp
    set temp=c:\windows\temp
    set prompt=$p$g

    set msinput=c:\msinput
    lh C:\windows\command\mscdex /d:mscd001
    lh c:\msinput\mouse\mouse.exe
