The Postscript output plots for this package have been designed to convey the same information depicted on the screen, but in greater detail, in a format which approaches publication quality. The plots have been designed to require a minimum amount of primary memory (RAM), which is a limited commodity on many personal computers. This has been done to some extent at the expense of both time (I/O delays) and disk space (temporary storage). Reasons for limiting the sizes of the output Postscript files are the requirement that the files be easily portable, and the fact that large postscript files are sometimes difficult to print on laser printers with less then 2MB of memory.
The procedure for obtaining Postscript output is described in Section 5.3.6 above. Four types of Postscript plots may be output:
