The working of the spreadsheet package Lotus 1-2-3 (version 2.2) is explained. Attention is paid to basic features, problem solving, functions, logical functions, mathematical functions, special functions, financial functions, statistics, database management with Lotus 1-2-3, graphical diagrams, printing, and macros.
Presented is an introduction to the relational DBMS software package Paradox 4.0 for micro computers. This book is aimed at students at the higher vocational or university level. First a general introduc- tion to relational database systems is provided, paying attention to data and data normalisation. After that the features of Paradox are explained, describing the design of a Paradox database, the design of the screen, sorting the records, query design, Query-by-Example, reports, and graphics. Exercises are included in the book as well as instructions on the use of the floppy disk that comes with the book.
This book presents a first introduction and course to learn to use the spreadsheet package Quattro Pro for Windows. First the concept of a spreadsheet is explained, after that the features of the package are highlighted. Addressed are basic skills, solving a pro- blem, functions, logical functions, mathematical functions, special functions, financial functions, statistical functions, database functions, graphics, macros, advanced options, and printing functi- ons. Concluded is with a number of exercises; the answers are not included.
Explained is how the computer program SAS can be used in solving statistical problems. Emphasized is the formulation of the problem, the needed input, and the interpretation of the output. In the first part of the book the most elementary SAS commands are described, and in the second part the statistical application possibilities of SAS are addressed, paying attention to statistical graphs and tables, indicators, distribution of probability, estimation, testing, and single and multiple linear regression.
