T. Rex Expo
Tyrannosaurus rex Expo
See our new T. rex unveiled
On September 15, 16 and 17, UCMP will host a three-day event to celebrate the
construction of its Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton.
The T. rex will stand in the
3-story circular stairwell in the new location of the museum,
the Valley Life
Sciences Building. You can get a Sneak Preview of the
T. rex construction if you come to CAL Day on
April 29th from 10am to 4pm. Museum curator, Mark Goodwin will be available
to provide answers to your questions concerning the (re)building of
T. rex.
The Tyrannosaurus rex Expo will include:
1. a
Special Sneak Preview of the completed skeleton for all donors to our
"Own
a Piece of the Rex" Campaign;
2. a special
Student Day to honor the winners of an essay contest for
6th through 12th graders. Students will meet with prominent
paleontologists, enjoy
behind-the-scenes tours, and give an oral presentation of their scientific
papers during an evening of lectures, slides, etc. open to the public; and
3. a Gala Event to include a presentation by Jack Horner, a dedication
ceremony, and special reception and tours of the new exhibit.
