SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. -- February 13, 1995 -- Borland International Inc. today announced that David Liddle, 49, has resigned from its board of directors. Liddle, who joined Borland's board in 1994, resigned due to of a conflict of interest created by the acquisition of Powersoft Corporation by Sybase, Inc., which was finalized today. Liddle serves on the board of directors of Sybase.
"David Liddle's experience and knowledge have been invaluable to our board of directors over the past year," said Philippe Kahn, chairman of Borland. "We appreciate his contributions and wish him well in all his future efforts."
Liddle is currently president and CEO of Interval Research, a research and development company he co-founded in 1992. Prior to this, Liddle founded Metaphor Computer Systems Inc. and served as its president and chief executive officer. Liddle's experience also includes 10 years at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center. He is on the board of directors of Broderbund Software, NetFrame Systems and Sybase Corporation.
Borland's remaining board members include, Gary Wetsel; president of Borland; Stephen J. Lewis, general partner, Generation Ventures; David Heller, director and president, Pacific Technology Capital Corporation; George Hara, partner, Accel Partners; and Philippe Kahn, chairman of Borland.
