The Ohio State University at Newark Art Gallery is hereby announcing its upcoming exhibitions for the 1994 - 1995 school year. The Art Gallery advisory board has, in conjuncture with the curators suggestions, chosen the following exhibitions:
Confrontation - Mediation - Transcendence - September 26, 1994 - October 31, 1994
This exhibitions will include three sculptors from Michigan and Ohio that have approached the questions of confrontation, mediation and transcendence in their recent works. Artists: Partners (Jon Berge, Chris Yoculan, Michelle Lach), Beverly Fishman and Richard Miller. OPENING RECEPTION OCTOBER 19, 1994 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm.
Licking County Artists - November 4, 1994 - December 15, 1994
The Art Gallery is committed to furthering the arts on a local as well as national and international level. This show will include artists from Licking County, Ohio and represent their newest works in many medias.
Halena Cline and Nathaniel Larabee - January 9, 1995 - February 13, 1995 Cline will be showing her latest ceramics in conjuncture with painting by Nathaniel Larabee. This exhibition should prove to be an interesting contrast in media and philosophy.
African ArtFebruary 17 - March 16, 1995 An exhibition of traditional African Art from private and public collections will explore the cultural and historical diversity of this continent.
4th Annual Milliken Photography Exhibition - March 29, 1995 - April 30, 1995 A memorial fund has been set up by The Ohio State University, Newark to sponsor The Annual Milliken Photography Exhibition.
This exhibition will feature three famous Eastern German Artists that have been working outside the official realm of communist government control since the late 1960's. Veit Hofman, Stefan Plenkers, and Rainer Zille had received a stipend from The Greater Columbus Art Council, Columbus, Ohio in 1994 to visit and create new works in Columbus. The focus of this exhibition will be a close look at the artists' works and their newest creations.
