CUUG offers a student membership rate of $30 per year which includes the
monthly newsletter, admission to the monthly General Meetings, and
participation in the Special Interest Groups.  This reduced rate is
available only to students registered full-time in a recognized
educational institution.  Proof of registration, such as a valid student
ID card, is required at time of initial application and renewal for CUUG
membership at the student rate.  Group discounts do not apply to student
memberships.  Student members do not have voting privileges.

The student membership no longer includes Computer Resource Center
access, effective December 14, 1994.  At the General Meeting held on
December 13, 1994 the membership voted to disallow student members
access to the CRC.  The vote was requested by the CRC volunteer
administrators after it became apparent that the vast majority of
problem incidents requiring disciplinary action were caused by student
members. 

Students have the option of joining at the regular membership rates to
get full membership privileges including CRC accounts. 

Student members who now have CRC accounts will be allowed to keep them
only until their current memberships expire.  At that time, they must
renew as full members if they wish their accounts to remain active.
