 The Harz is a mountain in western Germany. It's very hilly and the
 trail seems to be very tough. If there is interest, I can scan
 an altitude assembly drawing (?). 

 The trail leads from Werningerode to Nordhausen (51 km). A shorter
 run leads from Werningerode to Benneckenstein (25 km).

 Best running times (from 1994) :
 male   : Karsten Soerensen (Berlin, Germany)      3:36:23 h 
 female : Birgit Lennartz (St. Augustin, Germany)  4:00:53 h

 At October 14, 1995 there is also a marathon in the Harz with
 about 1000 m altitude difference (up).
