MV Greenpeace, an ex-ocean going tug boat of 58 meters long. It
has helicopter capabilities, and carries a number of
inflatables. Built in 1958, it has been from the Artic to
the Persian Gulf to Antarctic including a voyage up the
Amazon River, having done Whaling campaigns, to fisheries
protection, to nuclear dumping, to trident missile protests,
and forest clearcut campaigns.
SV Rainbow Warrior, an ex-North sea side trawler, buildt 1956,
and 55 meters long. It replaced the first Rainbow Warrior,
that was sunk in Auckland harbour July 10th, 1985 by french
secret agents. It was making preparation for protest
against Nuclear testing at Moruroa. The Rainbow Warrior II
has travelled right around the world, doing campaigns
against driftnet fisheries, nuclear power, toxic pollution,
Plutonium shipment.
SV Vega, a 36ft (12m) private ketch belonging to David McTaggart
honary chairman of Greenpeace International. The Vega has
done 7 voyages to Moruroa since 1972, protesting against
nuclear testing that was being done there.

Aquila D'Oro, a private yacht of 52ft. It departed Auckland on
the 6th of August.
Photina, a private yacht of 40ft. It departed New Zealand on the
6th of August.
Triptych, a private trimaran of 65ft. It departed Auckland on the
6th of August.
R. Tucker Thompson, a gaff rigged square topsail schooner that
normally charters in the Bay of Islands, NZ. It is 90ft in
length and left New Zealand on the 7th of August.
Anna, a private yacht of 36ft. It departed New Zealand on the
12th of August
Gemini Galaxsea, a private yacht of 40ft. It departed New Zealand
on the 16th of August.
Pickety Witch, a private yacht of 30ft. It departed New Zealand
on the 14th of August.
Carumba, a private yacht of approximately 40ft. It departed
Auckland, New Zealand on the 12th of August.
Manutea, a charter vessel coming from San Francisco. It is 112
foot (34.12 meters) sleek steel schooner, with a beam of 28
feet (8.35 meters), and a draft of 12 feet (4 meters).
Colonial Heritage, size unknown, coming from Australia.
HMNZS TUI, a New Zealand unarmed navy ship, fitted as a
Hydrographic research vessel. It departed NZ on August
10th, calling in at Rarotonga, will arrive at Moruroa in
late August, stay there for 15-20 days, return to Raro then
go back to Moruroa for another 15-20 days. WIll have two NZ
politicians on board and 5 or 6 journalists.
TE-AU-O-TONGA, a traditional Cook Islands voyaging canoe, which
has recently traveled from Hawaii via Tahiti. It departed
Rarotonga on the 18th of August.
Tara, a private 38ft German cutter. It departed Suva, Fiji on
August 9th.
Siddharta, a private yacht, 12 metres long (approx 45ft). It
departed Chile on August 3rd.
