residing at the home of Madame L of Chateau Thierry by an admirer
signing only his initials and "bons baisers." Perhaps her kisses
reminded him of bonbons. The women in the scene are doing their
marketing and catching up with the latest news. On the left
is a Boucherie (butcher shop).
