Submission Guidelines for Coppergate Publishing
As you may have seen from our Publications
page, we are starting out with three different zines, HeartWare,
Cybershock, and Mainstreet. We are currently looking for short
stories and book excerpts but will accept poetry submissions.
As all three publications will be sent as Email to subscribers and made
available via home pages, we expect submissions to be in single spaced ASCII
text format.
To submit, make sure that your manuscript is in
ASCII text form and send it to the editor at jtetro@acs.ucalgary.ca. If you cannot
send by Email, you can mail it along with a #10 SASE to:
Coppergate Publishing
Suite 208, Block D
1919 University Dr. N.W.
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
T2N 4K6
We are not interested in queries at this time but may assume this necessity
should submissions grow to an unmanageable amount.
Acceptance will be based on the approval of no less than three editors. Changes will not be made to any submission without the approval of the
author. Should a manuscript be rejected, a note will be sent to the author
explaining he reasons behind the rejection.
Note: We are looking for published writers but are mainly
interested in new, unpublished authors, trying to get exposure in the writing
business. With that in mind, do not send a work that is only in its first
draft. Send us the best you can for the Internet community.
As we are simply a EMail/WWW full access site with
no significant profit, money cannot be offered as pay
for any works. When we expand to print, we will look into payment.
We will work with the author to attain first North American serial
rights for any submission chosen for publishing.
Once a work has been published, it will be made free to the world wide web
community by means of a home page of the publication.
