7th Provincial Jamboree Frontier 95 B.C./ Yukon Provincial Council, Scouts Canada announces its 7th Provincial Jamboree - FRONTIER 95. Open to all registered Scouts, Venturers (Explorers) and Leaders
The jamboree will take place in and around Camp Hughes (Northern Regions camp) in Prince George B.C.. The camp is considered a rustic site. Prince George is located approximately 1000 km north of Vancouver (approximately a 10 hour drive) and is serviced by a large airport. Transportation to and from the site is the responsibility of the unit.
Programs include Waterfront (under water, water wheel, canoeing); West Lake Landing (frontier town circa 1860's); Overlander (overnight, day hikes, camps and tours); Subcamp and Special events. Programs are selected from a Program Catalogue of Activities by the patrol before attending the jamboree. Catalogues are available from regional and Provincial offices.
Cost for participation including food (patrols draw their own rations and prepare their own meals) and program costs, are payable prior to participation. Youth fee - $250.00, Leaders and offers of service fee - $150.00. (fees increase $25.00 per participant if received after April 28, 1995.
Medical (physical fitness) forms must be completed by parents or guardians.
Organization includes units (patrols) of 10 (8 youth and 2 scouters or 9 youth and 1 scouter), living in one of four sub camps.
The jamboree will run from Saturday July 15th. 1995 to Sunday July 22nd. 1995. Full programs start at 2:00 pm Sunday July 16, 1995. Participants will not be allowed on site or into subcamps until Saturday July 15th. 1995.
