Notes

The third season saw a major change in the title sequence with the flypast of the solar system replaced with a set of simulated deep space scenes. The uniforms worn by the main cast were also changed from a one-piece jumpsuit to a two piece. Jonathan Frakes was the first member of the regular cast to try his hand at directing with the episode The Offspring.

The episode The High Ground was banned by the BBC because of its allusions to the IRA; when shown by BSkyB the line mentioning the IRA was edited out. The end of the third season also saw the first two-part cliff hanger between seasons that has since become de-rigeur.

Evolution

The crew fights for survival when a mysterious force attacks the ship's life support systems. The answer appears to be related to microscopic machines known as nanites which have escaped from an experiment.

The Ensigns Of Command

The Enterprise discovers a human colony living on a planet bathed in lethal radiation. Unfortunately an alien race believe the planet to be theirs under a treaty with the Federation, who knew nothing of the colony when the treaty was signed. As the only member of the crew immune to the radiation, Data goes down to the surface to convince the colonists to leave, but can he overcome their prejudice and save them?

The Survivors

The crew travels to Rana IV, a remote colony where just two of its 11,000 inhabitants have miraculously survived a devastating attack by an unknown race. When the alien attackers return, the Enterprise crew become suspicious that all is not as it seems.

Who Watches The Watchers
