Michelle Chappel's artistic goal is to offer what she sees as a quietly afflicted society a sugar-coated cure in the form of music. In her prolific songwriting (200+ songs in four years), Chappel borrows perspectives gained from her doctorate in psychology and from years of personal mystical and holistic searching. She clothes her musical passages in warm vocal tones and reaches through accessibility into the "unconverted mainstream". Chappel's influences divide between seventies rock acts and the contemporary alternative-folk artists like Tori Amos. Her sound has been liked to that of Natalie Merchant (10,000 Maniacs), Texas, Belinda Carlisle, and Kate Bush. See two new songs, recorded live unplugged during a recent tour promotion, in Works-In-Progress.

Through the rocks and grooves of a broad (adult-oriented rock to easy listening) 15-track repertoire, Chappel's songs lure the listener into a world of progressive self-realization and personal empowerment. This, her cathartic debut album, chronicles her progression from the psychic dungeons of an abused childhood through to her early rise to inspired prominence. Instrumentally, the album encompasses mostly acoustic-orchestral and acoustic-based rock ballads. In a pilot release to seven compatible-format radio stations, tracks were played on all stations and three stations selected the album as Feature of the Week. The repetoire flaunts some of the songwriting abilities that won the artist seven Achievement Award in Billboard Magazine's Annual National Songwriters Contest.
