Salon du Livre / Paris Book Show '95

Partial Program for Monday, March 20, 1995. Salon open from 2 pm to 7 pm. Monday morning is reserved for librarians.

Throughout the day, starting at 2 pm, for the public, there are meetings, readings, and discussions held in various spaces within the salon:

Themes based on the works of Jean de la Fontaine are discussed each day, in the Forum des Auteurs, in association with several Paris newspapers. On Monday, March 20, the newspaper L'Humanite will be presenting 'Liberte d'ecrire, droit de lire' (Freedom of speach and the right to read)

From 3 pm to 4:30 pm: 'La liberte d'Expression', hosted by Jean-Pierre Leonardini, editor of the cultural section of L'Humainte. Participating in the discussion will be Monique Nemer, Jacques Henric, Rachid Boudjerba, and Christian Salmon,

From 5 pm to 6:30 pm: Francois Salvaing, reporter for L'Humanite on Sunday, will moderate a discussion entitled 'Le Droit de Lire'. Invited guests are Laurence Lentin, Henriette Zoughebi, Jean-Michel Bequie, and Jean Foucambert.

Les Murmures On the stand of the Societe des Gens des Lettres, no authors will murmur their work on Monday. They will be home writing more.

Les Lectures du Cafe Litteraire - priviledged rendez-vous between artists and their public -

From 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm : Le Theatre Manuscrit presents 'Plages', by Alain Gunther, published by Editions Jacques Bremond.

From 6 pm to 7 pm : 'Body Bag', A reading of the novel by Pierre Mathiote with Basile Siekona.

L'Espace Multimedia
presents a debate in the Forum des Auteurs Monday, March 20th, from 11 am until noon. The theme is 'Livres et Multimedia : pour la Librairie de Demain' Vahe Yorossian and Claire Touchard will lead the discussion, followed by a demonstration by Sebastien Motte. This event has being organised by Microsoft.

Litterature, Jeunesse, Religion, Sciences Humaines Salle Juan Benet -
from 3 pm to 5:50 pm : 'Est-ce qu'imaginer s' apprend?' Premier 'projection' and debate with the participation of Henriette Zoughebi, Michel Chaillou, and Christian Bruel.

Salle Cervantes - from 5:30 pm to 7 pm : 'Le Revanche de Gutenberg' Henri Le More explains why, thanks to computers, books are no longer 'sold out.' Order a book from a virtual catalogue; print a limited-edition book by remote control, even a single copy; today everything is possible. Organised by Le Livre a la Carte.
