University of Bayreuth Home Page
Welcome to the University of Bayreuth.
This www-server is run and maintained (we even do a
statistic of use) at the
Computing Centre
of the University of Bayreuth. Also run by the
Computing Centre
there is an
anonymous ftp server and
Gopher Server
which among lots of other information home a collection of
Meteosat Images .
There is an emerging
guided tour through the University of Bayreuth.
Due to its importance we also serve the
Big Dummy's Guide to the Internet
For people connecting to this server from outside an
information page about Bayreuth and its University
might be of interrest. Now there is a new page of
Bayreuth available.
Detailed information may be found in the
Vorlesungsverzeichnis
(german language).
There is also a small but growing collection of
scientific papers
published by researchers from the university of Bayreuth.
And finally (nothing is complete without such an item) there is a
test page
where we cook up stuff before it is served here.
Other servers in Bayreuth
In Bayreuth there are department servers maintained by
Legal information in the INTERNET and information about ELSA -
The European Law Students' Association
This service
is maintained by ELSA, The European Law Students' Association.
The so-called "Jurweb"
is designed to collect and structure sources of legal information in the INTERNET.
It was first run as gopher service ("Jurgopher").
In the meantime there are many sources which are only available by WWW, so the
"Jurgopher" is supplemented by those WWW-sources, too.
Click here to get the information about ELSA in English
or the English versions of the
"Jurweb" or the
"Jurgopher".
Information from the Mathematical Institute
All information from the
Mathematical Institute of the University of Bayreuth collected here
is maintained by participants of the DMV-project "Verbesserung des
benutzerorientierten Zugriffs auf fachspezifische Online-Datenbanken und
CD-ROM". You will find there e.g. information about bibliographic database
retrieval at the University of Bayreuth, a list of mathematical WWW-servers
and software archives.
Activities of Student Organisations
There is a separate home page for the activities of student organisations.
A link to get out of Bayreuth
