IMMD VII

Department of Computer Science VII (Computer Architecture and Performance Evaluation)

The IMMD VII is part of the IMMD. The IMMD is an institute of the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. Three main topics are dealt with in research as well as in lectures:
  1. All aspects of performance evaluation for computer and communication systems; this includes analytical, simulation and measurement techniques for parallel and distributed systems and communication networks.
  2. Development of algorithms for unconventional computers, in particular for SIMD-machines of the DAP- and MASPAR-type.
  3. Fundamental research questions related to the design of communication networks and distributed systems; design tools are being developed as well as prototypes of hardware and software components.
Head of the IMMD VII is Prof. Dr. U. Herzog.
