  • National data and information exchange 
    • The National Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (NSEPA) has appointed SMHI as a "national data host" for hydrophysical/chemical marine data from national monitoring programmes (main data submitters are GMF, SMF, UMF) 
    • The National Board of Fisheries and SMHI conducts joint cruises where the data centre manages the hydrographical data 
    • A number of regional coastal monitoring programmes uses SMHI as data host 
  • International data and information exchange
