Your objective is to get from the starting word to the destination word by clicking on word links under the current word. The word links are the result of three operations:

• removing one letter of the current word (successively) while preserving the order of the remaining letters

• substituting another letter for each letter of the current word (successively) while preserving the order of the other letters

• adding another letter to the current word (beginning, middle or end) while preserving the order of the existing letters

Each click on a word creates a new list of word links which conform to one of the three operations, one of which may draw you closer to the destination word. It is advised to stick with shorter words as longer ones tend to have far fewer links from which to choose (and also take longer to search :^). Words may be from two to ten letters long; that's all the word lists have.

The reference links at the bottom of each page (except "Start Over") are only there for your convenience; there are no links on those pages to bring you back to this game. To do so you must use your browser's own navigation buttons.
