A Few Influential KZSU DJs

Slag, hosted by DJ Gabe, takes everything from the harshest Japanoise to the most melodic Brit-pop and weaves them into a seamless musical tapestry. Once upon a time, I was listening to Slag when the music moved from industrial/ambient to improvised flute, and it was several minutes before I realized that a new song had begun. That was a segue that changed my idea of what a radio show could be.
Hammer, Anvil, and Stirrup, with DJ Klee, specializes in avant-jazz and other fiercly creative, improvised music. Klee is a DJ who can present extremely difficult music in an accesible fashion. He helped me explore the music I do not understand, rather than to run away from it.
Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses, the brainchild of DJ Mike, is arguably KZSU's most eclectic show. Tune in to hear Mike push the limits of a radio show to a level beyond that which an ordinary mortal could understand.
