My thesis project...
I'm working on a PhD thesis on parallel branch and bound algorithms. I have implemented
algorithms to solve
- The Traveling Salesperson Problem (TSP)
- The 15 Puzzle
The target machines cover a wide range:
- Macintosh
- DEC Alpha Workstation
- Sun Workstation
- INTEL Paragon, with up to 96 processors
- MUSIC, a MIMD Computer (up to 30 processors) developed at the ETH
Projects I'm working at...
When I'm not working...
I'm playing in a rock band called "Maltraiteur". We play our own songs, most of them with
swiss german lyrics. Our next concert (don't miss it ;-)) is at the

Yes; it's the same day, another local band (The Rolling Stones) plays the St. Jakob Stadion in Basel.
I'm also working for the AVETH, the association of the assisstants and PhD-students at ETH. Our
goal is to make the working environment at the ETH as good as possible.
