Personal user home pages Last update Monday August 28, 1995

Our automated listing of users home pages has been terminated due to a new university policy. All users home pages are still available that were being served off of this web server. In the future we will open a similar service on our new campus web server (www.appstate.edu) to allow ALL faculty, staff and students to provide information to the Internet. As details on how this will be done are ironed out they will be posted here and also in other resonable locations to keep our users informed. Also as soon as I can get the new university policy on this topic it will be provided here as well as in other reasonable locations. I hope that this change does not cause problems for our users.

Users on this system (xx.acs.appstate.edu) can reference their own personal home pages in the following manner:

http://www.acs.appstate.edu/~username

Just replace the word username with your username. For example to reference my personal home page you would use this:

http://www.acs.appstate.edu/~jmm

In the above 2 examples, the file index.html will automatically be served to the requesting web client. If users wish to have other documents displayed, just include them after the ~username seperating ~username and the other document to be served with a /. i.e.

http://www.acs.appstate.edu/~username/otherdoc.html

Remember that all documents to be served must be in a directory called public_html that is readable by the world.
