One of the keys to improving financial management in the future will be the increasing ability for financial professionals to communicate on a daily basis with one another in a "forum" in which one can post and receive answers and solutions to questions and problems encountered in daily work. The Internet Usenet provides that unique opportunity. The preferred access to FinanceNet's newsgroups and discussion forums is by newsreader or by robust browsers such as NetScape's Navigator (which provides newsgroup access). To reach the "financenet" newsgroups, simply point your newsreader's news (NNTP) server to:

news.financenet.gov

and subscribe to our newsgroups.

For those using NetScape's Navigator, simply pull down the "Options" and "Preferences" menu. Under "Set Preferences on" click on "Mail and News." At the bottom under "News (NNTP) Server" enter our site "news.financenet.gov" and click OK. Click on NetScape's "Newsgroups" button next to the "N" icon and subscribe to the FinanceNet newsgroups of your choice. The next time you click on "Newsgroups" you will be handily provided with all the various NNTP sites where you have subscribed to newsgroups.

Topical FinanceNet Newsgroups via Gopher and Email

However, for those not so "blessed" with a newsreader or the higher level Internet tools, FinanceNet is providing all such newsgroup messages here on its Gopher server for your enjoyment, with the additional facility to respond by regular Internet email. Be sure to read the instructions before proceeding to the newsgroups via Gopher access.
