Microsoft BackOffice Server Licensing Tool

This tool has been developed to help support licensing, packaging and pricing issues for the BackOffice version 1.5 family of server products. Use it to prepare price estimations.

Some highlights include:

• Resellers and Solution Providers can customize the tool to use their own prices instead of Microsoft's Estimated Retail Price.
• It has a Wizard which helps customers work through the decision to implement their Client Access Licenses in the Per Server or Per Seat mode.
• Quote results are displayed clearly and broken down into component part numbers and unit price.
• On-line help.
• Select points are calculated and each quote uses the appropriate price level.

Installation of the BackOffice Pricing Tool is easy. First, create a temporary folder on your hard drive exclusively for the pricing tool, and double-click below to download a self-extracting zipped file (PricTool.EXE) to that folder/directory. The file will take a little over 7 minutes to download over a 14.4 modem.

Once you've downloaded, locate PricTool.EXE on your hard drive using Explorer/File Manager and double-click. The file will launch a DOS window and extract 18 files. Find SETUP.EXE and double click on it, and follow the prompts. The temporary folder and its contents may then be deleted if desired. You may want to keep PricTool.EXE if you wish to distribute it to others.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - This program requires Windows 3.1 or later, mouse, and a hard drive with approximately 1.2 megabyte of free disk space (or about 0.8 megabytes if user already has VBRUN300.DLL in Windows system directory). These files will take up 328KB in the installation directory and 838KB in the Windows system directory.

Microsoft Product Support Services will not provide support for this product.

Pricing in this tool currently has only been localized for US prices.
