Packed with tools for rapid application development and data access, Microsoft Visual FoxPro database management system is the only Xbase product that’s easy enough to be visual, yet powerful enough to be FoxPro®.
Microsoft FoxPro has long been the fast, powerful choice for Xbase developers. And this latest version extends that power with object orientation. The leaps forward in rapid application development, flexibility, and data access in this version make it a true member of the Microsoft Visual Tools family. So we changed the name.
Microsoft Visual FoxPro, as it’s now named, combines a visual development environment with new tools for creating solutions that integrate the Microsoft Office and Microsoft BackOffice families. Its flexible architecture puts your existing Xbase code to work in Windows , Windows NT , and Windows 95 operating systems.
Users can freely choose the operating system that best meets their needs.
The Professional Edition includes essential tools for serious developers:
- Build and distribute royalty-free executables of the solutions you develop
- Build graphical Help systems with the Help compiler
- Create customized icons with the Icon Editor
- Trace class hierarchy visually with the Class Browser
- Adapt your local Visual FoxPro data quickly to run on Microsoft SQL Server back ends, using the Upsizing Wizard
- Use the online Win32® API Help file in the CD-ROM version for complete access to the right documentation at all times
- Microsoft Visual FoxPro , as a member of the Microsoft Visual Tools family, provides a single, efficient development environment for client and server application integration
- Developer-oriented OLE controls, such as MAPI controls, help you create robust applications
