A valid email address is no longer required for play on Ragnarok! There are, however, many reasons why you might want to register your mail address with us. For one thing, this will enable us to contact you regarding an important issue or to announce MUD changes or downtimes (or uptimes) if we can't reach you in the game.
Perhaps the best reason, though, is because doing so will allow you to use the Magic Mapper. This will send you, via E-mail, a graphical map of the rooms you've visited so far in Ragnarok.
If you don't know what a valid Internet-style address should look like, please ask for help! Generally, it consists of a user-id and a domain name, separated by an @ sign. For example, Fizban@ragnarok.teleport.com.
Note that it is the policy of Ragnarok that the Gods will not to reveal your email address to any other players or wizards, but you may do so if you wish. When you change your address, you will be asked whether you wish to allow others to see it. If you answer yes, (y is sufficient), then the finger command will display your mail address.
Email to other players within Ragnarok can be sent in the Post Office. In the near future we will add support there for mailing lists; until then, if you have a question for the Gods or a problem with your character and cannot send the message inside the game, address your message via "regular" email to mudgods@ragnarok.teleport.com.
