MISSION

The mission of the Division of Administrative Affairs is to support the instructional, research and public service missions of the University by providing business,financial, physical plant, personnel, environmental health and safety, and general administrative services at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Its goal is to provide these services at the lowest possible cost consistent with an acceptable level of service to the campus.



ORGANIZATION and MANAGEMENT

The Division of Administrative Affairs is under the direction of Assistant Chancellor Donald G. Melkus. Reporting to him are two senior staff members and seven directors who manage the seven operating departments of the division. These operating departments and their directors are:

ASSISTANT CHANCELLOR'S OFFICE

The Assistant Chancellor, together with two senior staff and one support staff, provides overall management to the Division with the goal of maximizing the effective use of available funds and personnel.

Assistant Chancellor, Donald G. Melkus , provides the division's principal liaison to other UWM schools, colleges and divisions, other UW-System institutions, State and local governments, and other State agencies.

Ronald M. Umhoefer, Administrative Officer, and Thomas W. Louchbaum, Administrative Program Manager are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the division with regard to budget and personnel. They also support the Assistant Chancellor in planning for more efficient use of its resources.
