OMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
gives us 31 days to celebrate women's
achievements and consider the impact of their absence from
too many history books. GNN met with three fascinating women
to learn about how they're bringing to light the unsung
heroines who've made a difference in our world.
"Where Were the Women?"
-- The people behind the National
Women's History Project helped put National Women's History Month
on the calendar. Founding member Mary Ruthsdotter talked with
GNN's Don George about the progress the group has made and the
fire that keeps them going.
March 19: A Talk with Deborah Felder
-- She generated controversy with her recently published The 100
Most Influential Women of All Time. (Let's just say Helen
Gurley Brown made the list, but Gloria Steinem didn't.) Join us
for a conversation with this intriguing author.
March 26: Finding the History that's Not in the Schoolbooks
-- Irene Stuber's Web pages celebrate women's achievements, large
and small, throughout "herstory." A retired grandmother living
in Arkansas, Irene uses the Web as a tool to get her message to
the world.
