...the email address of someone who is currently at Berkeley?

The UC Berkeley Email Query Form (http://www.berkeley.edu/profile/) can search for the email addresses of current faculty, staff, and students at UC Berkeley. Address information, if available, will be listed for faculty, staff, and students if three or fewer records are found for your search criteria.

...information about a School/Department/College at Berkeley?

Many schools, divisions, colleges, and departments provide information about their organization through a WWW or gopher server. See the list of Teaching & Research Units (http://www.berkeley.edu/teaching/) on the UC Berkeley Home Page.

Otherwise, you can call UC Berkeley Directory Assistance at +1-510-642-6000 to find the appropriate organization's telephone number. A departmental directory of email addresses is not available at this time.

3. What do I do when...?

...I click on a link on the UC Berkeley Home Page and it does not work?

The Web resources listed on the UC Berkeley Home Page have been registered in the UC Berkeley Network Registry. These Web resources are stored and managed by people all over the campus. The UC Berkeley WWW List is an alphabetical list of WWW-accessible registered resources and some general information from the registry about each resource. For questions or problems concering a particular resource, send email to the contact(s) listed for that resource.

If you feel that there is a problem with the UC Berkeley Home Page, please send a note to www@www.berkeley.edu describing the problem, including any pertinent information such as what software you are using, and on what type of computer.

...I want to change my email address?

You can change your preferred email address in the Community Profile Dataset (CPD) (http://www.berkeley.edu/dcns/cpd/) by using the UC Berkeley Email Update Form (http://www.berkeley.edu/profile/update/). The use of this form is restricted to UC Berkeley only. An update screen will appear which requires student or staff ID, last name, birth month and birth day. You can then enter your new email account and system. The change will take place immediately.

If you are a UC Berkeley faculty or staff member, you can change your email information in the Campus Telephone Directory by submitting a directory update form to the Telecommunications Office. Directory Listing Update Forms and instructions can be found in the Campus Telephone Directory.

...I want to change my postal address and telephone information?

If you are a UC Berkeley faculty or staff member, your postal address and telephone number are maintained by the UC Berkeley Telecommunications Office. You can change your directory information in the Campus Telephone Directory by submitting a directory update form to the Telecommunications Office. Directory Listing Update Forms and instructions can be found in the Campus Telephone Directory.

If you are a UC Berkeley student, your postal address and telephone number are maintained by the Registrar's Student Database. To update student address and telephone information, refer to the Bear Facts Fact Sheet.
