The Florida Dept. of Revenue plans to implement an Internet Sales Tax on July 1, 1996. The proposed gross receipts tax (2.5%) and sales tax on `telecommunications' services (7%), together with any local taxes could add as much as 17.5% to telecommunication bills.

Right now we are getting the word out. A coalition has formed called COST (Committee on State Taxation) that is presently fighting this. We will be posting updates here as the protest develops. Send us an e-mail to: webmaster@IntNet.net voicing your opinion and we print these out and mail them to the appropriate legislators in Tallahassee. Include your URL if you have one. We will post all those who show support and desire to protect the Internet here on this page.

You can also let your local Senator and Representatives know that you are against this unfair tax.

The Florida Chamber of Commerce has set up a Fax Alert Response that you can fill out online. They will be collecting these and will deliver them in a LARGE stack to the Department of Revenue. So, fill this out now.
