People,

I need to go ahead and firm up some dates for ICCM '96 to be held here at Abilene Christian University.

We tentatively set the date for June 8-11. Fathers day in 1996 is June 16th.

If we firm up dates now - we will be able to reserve some of the better dorm rooms.

Those dates appear workable. Issues in the past have included

Early June
graduations and many kids still in school
But, last summer, it was decided that the conference is more for individuals than for families.
Father's Day
a big deal to most, but not all participants
Late June
we lose some people because they are then on vacation

One of these days, we might ask the real tough question about what is magical about June? At Taylor, it is the only time available but that may not be the case at Abilene Christian. I wouldn't mind going to Florida in January.

As participants travel internationally to get here, I have often wondered about their typical travel times for furlough or other meetings which would bring them to the U.S. Are there better times for those people?

By the way, through some blurbs in various newsletters, we are receiving more inquiries from outside the U.S., especially Africa and Eastern Europe. Funding is going to be the single big issue, but there are some nifty people who would sure like to be with us. Not being an entity, it is not possible to do a lot of fund raising for these folks; somehow that might just be raising another question for another discussion.
