Any Illinois-based business, non-profit organization or individual may apply for a Prairienet Information Provider account. Although accounts are provided at no cost, we strongly encourage businesses to support their community network through an annual donation or sponsorship. Prairienet Information Providers (IPs) serve a vital function in building Prairienet as a community network, for this reason, IP accounts carry a number of additional privileges.

For potential Information Providers

• Our Information Provider FAQ answers many commonly asked questions.
• We offer free Information Provider training workshops on the first Wednesday of every month.
• To find out more about what's happening with IPs, check out our Information Provider newsgroups, pnet.provider.talk or pnet.provider.announce.
• You can also subscribe to the ip-l Information Provider Announcements mailing list. To subscribe, send e-mail to listproc@prairienet.org with the message text:
  subscribe ip-l Yourfirstname Yourlastname
• And if our online information leaves any questions unanswered, please send e-mail to Prairienet's Information Provider Coordinator at ipc@prairienet.org.
• If you qualify for our fast track option and will not be attending a workshop, you may request an IP account application and have it sent to you via e-mail.
