That's me !
Hi surfer! What a coincidence to meet you in this confusing information jungle !
Well, I'm
Steffen, I live and work in
Chemnitz,
a nice town in the Southeast of
Germany,
you know.
I invite you to go for a stroll
in Chemnitz and to learn something about the nearby beautiful
Ore Mountain
and the federal state I live in -
Saxonia.
Here's a look back at the last
"Day of Saxons" (almost all pages in English).
What do I do for living ?
I work at the
Chemnitz University of Technology (English),
Computing Services. Maybe you want to have a look at
some of my working activities:
- Operating Systems:Digital Unix, Ultrix
- I'm responsible for the field service of machins running with these
OS at our university - that means to give advisories & support
by installing, updating and using of OS and applications a.s.o.
- Administration of our Super Scalar Cluster (English)
- WWW: Hypertext Manual Search,... and much more !
- You can use this tool for several UNIX operating systems
(Linux, Solaris,...). Just try it !
- Programming: Perl
- Take it EZ, take PERL !
Here
grows a little german intro into Perl (still not completed).
- A Few Written Documents Of Mine concerning "WWW":
-
An (German) Introduction To HTML. Has to be too, I guess.
Using Information Systems On The Internet.
Part of our
UNIX basic course.
WWW for Advanced. A little collection of subjects like CGI, index searches, image maps, HTML document access control and so on.
Of course, I've my special bookmark list ...
Sometimes, I can spend some time ...
- swimming
- riding my bicycle
- collecting old Mosaiks, a former comic series in East Germany
So, perhaps it's your turn now ? What's on ? You could send me an email to contact me or send me a letter:

Between ourselves, I really hate such rubbish like background images and access counter,
but the counter on our Web server provides such a nice image with a transparent
background, so I show you this:
accesses since November '95.
