The TV interface means you don't need to buy an expensive monitor before you can use the machine and the two megabytes of RAM provide enough memory to perform most educational and home use functions. It is possible to purchase the A3010 with only one Megabyte of memory.
The A3010 has an ARM 250 RISC processor running at 12Mhz, (moderately faster than a CISC processor running at 16Mhz speed). The A3010 also comes with a three button mouse used to interact with and control the WIMP interface.
The pack comes complete with Talking Startwrite, Explore with Flossy the Frog, A Mouse in Holland, Doris the Dotty Dog, Amazing Maths, Gemini and Paint Pot. This combination of packages not only allows your child to flex their mathematical and literary muscles but the educational games are designed to teach basic skills whilst entertaining the child. The A3010 doesn't have a built in hard drive (although a third party hard drive is always a possibility), but it does include a 1.6 Megabyte Floppy Disk Drive. The A3010 contains a mini podule expansion socket. Unlike other computers today, the A3010 is a single box package. You don't need lots of extra bits of hardware cluttering up the desktop. The A3010 is one box that does it all.
