MicroStation Review allows read-only access to MicroStation .DGN files. Files imported from other software packages are translated transparently and on-the-fly into a .DGN format. By design, no changes to the .DGN file are permitted. Markups are saved to a separate file (.RDL) using a redlining "overlay" metaphor. The file format of the .RDL file is identical to MicroStation .DGN format, and can be loaded directly into MicroStation.
