deGraf/Associates's ALIVE(tm) animation software is a state-of-the-art system for animating three-dimensional computer-generated characters, environments, and events in real-time. It's major areas of current application are in allowing computer-generated characters to be used in live contexts, and in providing orders-of-magnitude improvements (over typical keyframig techniques) in production animation of characters for recorded media.
ALIVE(tm) provides the capability to map any motion-control inputs (3space trackers, dials mouse, waldos, files, etc.) to any animating structure (arbitrary hierarchies, metamorphosing models, lights, cameras, particles, etc.), record and playback inputs arbitrarily, interconnect inputs algebraically, sync to audio, and act as master or slave to any time-code source.
